Video: Teaching children about bias & prejudice

On Tuesday April 10th, HOME held a children’s book reading event as part of Fair Housing Month. We had about fifteen children and their parents join us for a reading of “A Pig is Moving In” by Claudia Fries. Below is a video of this adorable story along with the reactions of the children.

Teaching children about bias and prejudice may seem like an ugly and depressing task, but the children thoroughly enjoyed the book reading and had some very insightful things to say.

  1. This is great stuff. The more we can educate our children early on of the reality of prejudice, the sooner they can identify it when they see it in public, and be empowered to act to counter it with compassion and equity.
