Code of Conduct

The purpose of this blog is to promote open and honest discussion about housing in Virginia. Posts on this blog do not represent the official views of HOME. In order to promote and preserve thoughtful and respectful dialog on important housing issues, Take Me Home Virginia request all contributers, commentators and participants to adhere to the following Code of Conduct on this blog:

  1. I will express myself with civility, courtesy, and respect for every member of the Take Me Home Virginia’s online community, especially toward those with whom I disagree—even if I feel disrespected by them.
  2. I will express my disagreements with other community members’ ideas without insulting, mocking, or slandering them personally.
  3. I will not exaggerate others’ beliefs nor make unfounded prejudicial assumptions based on labels, categories, or stereotypes. I will always extend the benefit of the doubt.
  4. Housing Opportunities Made Equal of Virginia Inc. is a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code. As such, we are prohibited from publishing anything that supports or opposes candidates for elective political office. The prohibition applies to all campaigns, including campaigns at the federal, state, and local level. Any comments or posts that support or oppose candidates will be deleted.
